Thankyou for your interest in Morpeth Archers.
The Morpeth Archery Club is associated with the Grand National Archery Society (GNAS) and the Durham and Northumberland Archery Association (DNAA). We have an active group of members who shoot on both a recreational and competitive basis.
From May to October we shoot outdoors at our range on the outskirts of Morpeth, Northumberland. A wonderful and probably unique aspect of archery is the opportunity for competitors of any ability to compete. Club members range in age from 10 to 70+ proving it's never too late (or early) to start! In addition to the health benefits and social aspects of club membership, safety is always emphasised in this 'sport of Kings and Queens'.
Club Membership.
Club membership (to be paid in March) is £35.00 per year for Seniors and £17.50 for Juniors. Some equipment is available for loan to those starting our beginners
course, to allow you to try before you buy!
All members must also pay dues to GNAS in order to cover insurance. GNAS dues (to be paid in July) are £38.00 per year for Seniors and £23.00 for Juniors.
One of the advantages of our club is that our shooting field is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week (365 days per year for those hearty diehards who don't
let inclement weather deter them!). At the club's shooting field core groups of members shoot at various times during the week with coaching available on Friday evenings although help and advice is always readily given by other members who will pleased to help. Full members receive a key to the equipment container and bosses are permanently left on the field. You will find our club have a very relaxed attitude, most members shoot on a recreational basis and it is an individuals choice to enter competitions.
Our members shoot most styles of bow including Longbow, Recurve and Compound. Arrangements can also be made with the Club President for 'Clout' shooting.
